Quick Water Requirements
Water Gallons  Quarts
Heat water added to kettle (equipment estimates 6.34 g | 25.4 qt) 5.24 21
Mash volume with grains (equipment estimates 6.34 g | 25.4 qt) 5.4 21.6
Grain absorption losses (steeping) -0.25 -1
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 0.51 2
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 6.59 g | 26.4 qt) 5.5 22
Boil off losses -1.5 -6
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.09 -0.4
Post boil volume 5 20
Going into fermentor 5 20
WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.
Total: 5.24 21
Equipment Profile Used: System Default

Notes

Start with 4 gal. Grain water loss: .25 gal. Sparge with 1 gal before boil to bring to 4.75gal. Boil loss approx 1.5gal. Add 10lb bag of ice + .5 gal to get to ~5gal. Mash pH target 5.4. Add lactic acid until target pH is achieved (approx 8g)
