Filtered with 600 & 400 um screens. Yielded 3 gal & a ton of 400 um trub. (600 um is mostly hops.)
Aerated with the Persian Shake. 1L of wort used to wake up starter. Set fridge at 49F. Will pitch active starter next morning. |

Tastes of crisp malt & citrusy mandarin oranges. No perceptible astringency from tightening up the grain mill gap. Really excited about this one. |

Heavier on the palate than I'd like. Skip the Melanoidin next time and ease up on the flaked barley. Flaked grains seem to add a heaviness in the finish that this beer doesn't need. That might improve with more CO2. |

CO2 has lightened the body, but the beer still lingers in the palate and finishes very dry with an almost astringent character. Nice firm bitterness and a subtle tangerine finish, but too harsh. Almost chalky in the mid-palate. Maybe cut down on the minerals? |

Beer continues to be too harsh. Likely, the bittering is too high. Should shoot for closer to 35 IBU next time. |
