Overall, flavor was not as crisp as batch 1. I feel this may have been due to the use of DME and when that was added, as opposed to the use of LME in batch 1. Also, due to the higher OG and lower FG, this became a bit too hot/boozy for the style (finished at almost 7% rather than the expected 6%). This may a noticeable difference on the nose as well and did not finish as crisp/dry as I would have preferred. Will focus on keeping the abv at 6% for the next brew regardless of DME vs LME. |
