Notes

This recipe was cloned from user HighVoltageMan! and then modified slightly based upon available ingredients and water profile treatments. I also changed it from a step mash schedule to a single infusion mash method based on my equipment and level of confidence. - DaveBrews71

I adjusted this recipe for some efficiency problems I was having and then had way better efficiency than I thought I would. Therefore, being out of the style guidelines for a Munich Dunkel with an Expected OG: 1.051 and Actual OG: 1.076, and a final ABV of 8.6%, I found I met the style guidlines for a Dopplebock and entered it into the Low Road 2023 Wings and Ales Festival competition and won first place. - DaveBrews71

Add pre-wetted rice hulls to mash tun after decoction is pulled (if a decoction mash is done)

An extra hard boil for 90-120 minutes will darken the wort and increase the malt complexity.
