2 liter flask overflowed a couple of times and i put a tupperware container between the flask and the stir plate. lost some yeast, so i did a second step up with 87 gms of DME and 870 ml of water on 1/13. I think I have enough now. |

Had good ferment activity in less than 8 hours. Holding at 52* and will raise a bit over the next couple of days. |

Took a sample gravity and i will raise temp again to room temp for a few days
Added some yeast nutrient (3/4 tsp) to see if i can get it moving again. Would love to get it down to low 1.02's |

well, it didn't attenuate like i wished it did. Tasty, but sweet and that is probably due to my missing my second strike temp for the mash. ah well.....

Color is a fantastic reddish amber and quite clear. That's the good news. Before carbonation and any lagering, the brew is a bit alcoholic (hot) and somewhat syrupy. Don't know if a month or two in the lager will change much, but i'm hopeful. |
