Notes

In Nightmare Before Christmas:

Jimmy the Saxophone Player is a citizen of Halloween Town, and a member of the town band. He plays the saxophone. In the beginning of the movie, he tells Jack, "Nice work, bone-daddy", complimenting him on another successful Halloween.

Micro Homebrew

  • Flaked Wheat (Grain Millers) 2.25 lbs
  • Dingemans Belgian Pilsen (1.5-1.9°L) 2.5 lbs
  • Flaked Oats 2°L (Grain Millers) 0.5 lbs
  • 2 sugar pie pumpkins roasted 1 hour 375 F

    2 AAU at 60

Adapted from https://byo.com/article/witbier-style-profile/ to create a pumpkin witbier.

    Weight conversions for spices:
  • peppercorn — 1/4 tsp is roughly 0.7 g

When mash is complete the refractometer reading should be at or a bit above 1.058. (This is a gravity adjustment from post-boil volume to strike water volume).

Rice hulls may be needed for the sparge. If it is a problem restart the sparge with them added.

Note: pumpkin is excluded in calculation of strike water, thus it may bring the temp down. Plan is to adjust with direct heat to the mash tun which will be a kettle.
