Took 1.5 for RWS.
Run starter 26c
Transfered hot into kegmentor left spice and hops in bag will remove before yeast pitch. |

30 g East Kent Goldings (Pellet) for 5 days
Added 7.5g lemon myrtle blanched it boiling water along with 1/2 cup cane sugar let this sit a.bit then Added the water to fermentor and the hops and leaves into the bag.
Lowered PSI down to 5 to let fermentor vent then will seal it up for a few days.
Sitting at 26.5c.

Took sample today not too bad got some ginger tickle to it had to describe the lemon myrtle maybe I should of added more. |

Aroma sweet floral ginger lemon.
Appearance pale golden with a lite haze.
Flavour well ballance lingering malt flavour with a nice blend of gentle ginger and lemon it has maybe an slightly solvent or medicinal thing maybe from lemon myrtle. Not off putting though.
Bitterness is subdued but has a nice slight bitterness I think also coupled with the ginger.
Head isnt amazing but sticks around to the edge of the glass with a thin film staying ontop
Maybe some wheat addition next brew.
Overall I'm happy with the beer ginger is right will be interesting if I brew again if more or less ginger will be ideal I'm thinking maybe just try a whirlpool or just steep the lemon myrtle next batch and add back at end of fermentation.

Appearance amber gold pouring clear with slight haze. Head is fluffy on pour receads to a thin persistent film on glass.
Aroma floral spicey ginger lemon aroma clean.
Flavor ginger lemon lite slightly creamy low bitterness clean finish |

Big ginger lemon nose disappointed that flavour wasnt there. No malt flavour no esters from yeast.
Dial back the lemon myrtle was the recommendation.
Maybe next batch up the malt and mash temp including chloride to sulphate ratio
Maybe some Munich and or some light crystal malt. |
