Nice sweet malty flavor, lots of sugars/malts to ferment. Could almost just drink the wort. |

Recipe and calculations targeted 1.068 -1.071 OG. OG actual was 1.064, a little lower than expected. Suspect both poor sparging technique (lack of equipment) and dilution to raise final volume in fermenter. Combination chill with ice and submersion chiller for faster temperature crash. Dry yeast, no culture/starter. |

Had what I hope will be a minor oops. Dropped chiller in for sanitation at 50 minutes, at which time Flavoring hops should have been added. Forgot hops, but realized before temperature dropped too much on start of chill. Removed bittering hops bag (not much left in it) and re-heated for 10 minutes for flavoring hops. Second hot break occurred. |

Fermentation started very slowly on this batch, so I'm letting it run another week before packaging. |

Noted possible contamination (mold) on lid of fermenter while cleaning after racking to bottling bucket. Taste test revealed no apparent off-flavor, though this beer has a sour taste anyway before conditioning. Nothing noted in krausen or trub to suggest batch is ruined. Perhaps left on ferment too long. |

Somewhat sour tasting. Fermentation was very slow to start, and did not last long, leaving excess malt in the brew. This was NOT my best beer. |
