First attempt at making a mead. Using straight honey for this one, no fruits, no fancy varietals. Just ghetto ass straight from Sam's Club bulk honey.
Not sure if this should result in a sweet or semi sweet mead.
Boiled water, let cool to 167 degrees.
Added honey at 167 to dissolve and then allowed to cool to pitching temp, approx 70 degrees and moved to basement near heater.
Gave 1- tsp yeast nutrient at honey addition as well as day 1, 3, 5.
Didn't do a gravity reading but according to software should be
OG 1.117
FG 1.003
Actual FG was 1.006 (95% attenuation)
Actual FG: 0.999 at bottling on 9/23/21 for the smaller container
larger container was transferred to a keg on 11/17. Still a bit white wine like and sweet. FG for that was 1.005
