Notes

Achieved 1.050 preboil gravity. Added candisyrup 10 minutes before flameout.

ended up striking with too much water and had 7.8 or so gallons in the BK

Target preboil with this adjustment 1.050

Volume after boil: approx 5.5gallons

Target gravity after boil with these adjustments: 1.085
Actual: 1.080 +/-

I hate it when I miss my numbers, especially on a beer I'm trying hard to copy, but this is OK. It'll likely attenuate 85% or so, maybe more given the fermentability of Pilsner malt and soooo much sugar. At 85% attenuation, I'm at 9.2% ABV, which is definitely Quadrupel-acceptable.

I contemplated adding the additional 0.5 # of D-180 syrup, but the extra 3 gravity points did not seem worth the potential risk of infection with adding it straight to the fermenter. I will just be content with this beer on the numbers side, and judge it on taste, aroma, presentation etc after it ferments and appropriately ages.
