Well, we had some problems here. The power went out 35 minutes into the boil. I added all of the hops on time and covered the brew kettle with a blanket after placing the wort chiller into the kettle. I did this to sanitize the chiller. It was probably half an hour after the boil was suppose to be over when the power came back on and I was able to chill the beer down. This ended up causing much less boil off than expected and thus a lower gravity and changes to the IBU. The beer turned out delicious but not quite as bitter as I anticipated. |
