WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Shooting for a malty amber ale with mild hop influence.

Using a really old bag of Laaglander Amber DME, purchased in 2002. Has been sitting in a closet ever since, giving it a try for the hell of it.

<update> Sampling at bottling time and pondering the use of Fuggles in low quantities led to decision to relabel as a Scottish Ale rather than an amber.
